The Arcon story began back in the 1980s when Byron Wilson, the company’s founder, was hired as part of a team to create a natural-living environment for animals at Winnipegs Assiniboine Park Zoo. In the process, Wilson became so inspired by the artists who were able to shape and texture the concrete to look like real rock that he decided to make it his lifes work.
Fast forward to the present and Arcon, a blend of the words "artistic concrete," has created sculpted-rock environments for Vancouver International Airport, Vancouver Aquarium, River Rock Casino Resort, West Vancouver and Coquitlam municipalities, as well as numerous residential customers.
In 2008, seeing the potential for more and more British Columbians to extend their living environments to the outdoors, Allan Wong joined Arcon as a partner after five years operating a successful pharmaceutical business.
